With Covid-19 ... Hotels are busier than you might think ...

It's been a very busy summer here in Tofino and the fall and winter outlook is difficult to predict. Given the uncertainties of these strange times, we strongly recommend that you make hotel reservations before you come to Tofino.

While it used to be true that you could arrive in Tofino anytime between October and June and expect a vacancy, this may no longer be true -- please plan ahead.

Best of luck finding a place to stay; hopefully it's your dream hotel on a beach or somewhere cosy in the forest.

Five Things to Consider if Your Favorite Beach Hotel is Booked:

  1. Remember the number one rule from the resourceful Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Don't panic!. (or maybe try camping!)
  2. Use Tourism Tofino's Vacancy Report to find a last minute hotel room.
  3. Use this opportunity to expand your horizons and instead of staying at your favorite hotel, try a vacation rental or cabin instead.
  4. Checkout Tofino's awesome campgrounds!
  5. Ucluelet is cool too... Our neighbours to the south are super friendly and have some pretty awesome places to stay. Check them out!

A Friendly Note to Pet Owners

Please be advised that Tofino is located in the "wilds".

Wolves, mountain lions, bald eagles, great blue herons, gulls and Bears have free roaming rights. DOGS DO NOT.

We understand that many hotel and resort guests travel with dogs – please keep pets leashed at all times, especially on the beaches and trails.

It is illegal to permit dogs to chase wild and migratory shorebirds or other wildlife in their natural habitat.

Fines are stiff and they are levied frequently in the National Park and throughout the District of Tofino.
